It’s finally here! Summer is the season of fun-filled events and getting outdoors with family and friends (very much dependant on the English weather). With Glastonbury 2019 fast approaching this weekend, we thought we would give you a rundown of what’s going on here in Macclesfield now that festival season is in full swing.

MACCLESFIELD PRIDE: Saturday 6th July

2018 saw the very first Pride event in Macclesfield and we’re glad to see that it’s returning for 2019! This free to attend, charity event in the town centre promotes equality and celebrates diversity in Macclesfield whilst standing with the LGBTQ+ community internationally. Grab your most colourful outfits and head into town for a day full of Pride parades, live music, market stalls, kid’s activities, rainbow raffles and so much more. Macc Pride will continue into the night with a range of after-party events at local bars and more.

Located at Macclesfield RUFC, Macc Fest is definitely the town’s most popular summer festival. In 2017, the event was an amazing success attracting 7.500 people from all over Cheshire and the North West. There is always a brilliant line-up to be enjoyed by all, along with tons of activities over the 11 hours. Macc Fest aims to go bigger and better this year with a great line up (such as local bands Queen Cult and Rough Twist) more stages, dance tents, market stalls, food stands and plenty more.

Rewind North Festival has been around since 2014, but really hit its peak in 2018. Because of this success, they’ve decided to bring it back for another year! With 80’s music, comedy and superb food and drink – Rewind is the place to be this summer. Rewind is spread over the first weekend of August 2019 and is located at Capesthorne Hall. Whether you get day tickets or choose to camp over, it is the perfect weekend activity with family and friends! The festival is great for all ages; with the theme being 80’s so the adults can get their groove on, whilst also being child friendly with fun fair rides, games and a kid’s zone.
