Welcome to the June 2022 edition of the Skyzack newsletter. We’ve spoken about the importance of pride, put together a short guide to digital marketing for your business, and shown some updates on what’s been occurring in the Skyzack world… Let’s jump right in, shall we?

Celebrating Pride Month

Our team has always been passionate about inclusion and equality, both business-wise and personally. Over the course of Pride month, along with educating ourselves, we’re doing what we can with our platforms and voices.

On our social media, we’ve been combining our existing knowledge with what we’ve learned recently. This is to help people and businesses to support the LGBTQ+ community all the time, not only during Pride month. We always want to learn more; so please leave us a comment on Instagram or get in touch to share your own knowledge, stories and experiences with us.

And Happy Pride!

A Guide to Help your Business Grow Digitally

Making your business more visible online can take a lot of time and effort. And we know figuring out what to focus on can be overwhelming.

Digital marketing methods work together with each other to elevate your business’s online presence and to help you be found by the right people. Therefore, it’s important to use a mixture of what’s appropriate for your industry i.e., just having a website won’t bring the same benefits as pairing it with social media, reviews etc. With this in mind, let’s start with the basics.

Use social media:

The majority of people will use at least one social media platform every day, making social media a crucial part of any digital marketing strategy. If it’s done right, it can benefit businesses in any industry. As an extension of your shop front and website, social media needs to be on-brand, current and consistent, which can be made easier by using brand kits and templates.

Do your research:

Your target audience may be avid Instagram scrollers, who check their Facebook account once a week or solely use LinkedIn. Thoroughly researching what online platforms your current and potential customers use, and what content interests them, is key to helping your business be seen by the right people.

For more information on how to research your target audience effectively, check out our guide to customer personas.

Customer reviews:

We all know the importance of customer feedback. With review sites such as Google, Tripadvisor and Trustpilot, there are plenty of places where people can share their experiences and opinions. Therefore, it’s important your business is on those applicable to your sector, and that you keep up-to-date with them. By responding to both positive and negative reviews in a genuine and thoughtful way, you build trust by demonstrating to your audience that you care about what they say, and will take any issues seriously. Additionally, reviews make for great social media content. This in turn can lead to more reviews from your customers and clients.

Optimise your website:

In 2022, every business needs an up-to-date, user-friendly website. It’s essentially your online shop-front and needs to reflect your business brand and message accordingly.

Search engines like Google and Bing are constantly changing, and keeping your website optimised helps it to be found by potential new customers. To do this effectively, your site’s copy, imagery, user experience (and a lot more) need to be optimised for the crawlers and the actual humans who visit your website.

We hope this brief guide has helped some of you get started on your digital marketing journey. As always, if you’d like any help with anything at all, please get in touch.

Work Experience at Skyzack

We recently had a very talented photographer, Sacha, visit us for a week of work experience. Having a young person in to learn all about digital marketing resulted in a fun-filled week. We also got lots of fantastic content for our Instagram and Facebook.

You can read more about Sacha’s experience in the blog she wrote for us.

Skyzack’s Summer Shindig!

After a long six months filled with great projects, changes to our team and many amazing new clients, it was time to celebrate our hard work.

We went to the entertaining Albert’s Schloss restaurant in Manchester, for delicious bratwursts and cocktails in rare UK 30-degree weather. We had a great time celebrating the halfway point of the year and can’t wait to see what the next 6 months bring.
